Knit Pattern Reading Class
Instructor: Joyce Q
Knit and crochet patterns are a lot like recipes in a favorite cookbook: they tell you what you’ll need, how much of it to use, and the steps to follow to achieve the results you want. Once you know how to read and understand patterns, you can be confident you’ll create something you can be proud of!
This beginner-friendly class demystifies patterns and shows how to read them with ease. The focus is on:
-
How patterns are organized and what information lives in each section
-
Common abbreviations and symbols, and how to translate them into stitches
-
Making sense of stitch counts, row instructions, and repeats (…)
-
Reading and using charts for colorwork or lace
By the end of the class, patterns will feel less intimidating and more like helpful guides—opening the door to a wider world of knitting and crochet projects.
Skill Level: Beginner / Advanced Beginner
Length: 1 hour
Leave feeling confident, capable, and ready to tackle your next knitting project.

If we need to cancel due to low enrollment, we’ll notify you at least 24 hours in advance and provide a full refund.
Student Responsibility: If you need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days before class for a full refund. Cancellations made 3–6 days prior are eligible for a partial refund, and cancellations less than 3 days before class are non-refundable. It is the student’s responsibility to arrive at least 5 minutes early so class can begin promptly. Please note, missed classes cannot be made up or credited. If you are taking a multi-session course and know you’ll miss a date, kindly let your instructor know.
