Knit a Cozy Cowl

Just finished Learn to Knit? Picking up your needles again after some time away? This cozy cowl is the perfect next step in your knitting journey.

You’ll put your knit and purl stitches to work in a classic ribbed pattern while learning to join your stitches and knit in the round. You’ll also practice a cable cast-on and bind-off. The repeating pattern gives you time to settle into the rhythm of knitting as your cowl takes shape.

Skill Level

Confident Beginner

You should be comfortable with knit and purl stitches and know how to cast on and count stitches. This class is a great next step after Learn to Knit, as well as a welcoming place to refresh your skills if you’re returning to knitting.

Materials

Yarn: Our shop sample was made with Berroco Hearthside. Other yarn options at Stitch & Revel include Berroco Gimlet and worsted-weight yarns such as Malabrigo Rios, Urth Worsted, Juniper Moon Cotton Chic, Cascade 220, and Uptown Worsted.

Knitting Needles: You’ll also need US 9, 24-inch circular needles, a stitch marker, a tapestry needle, and scissors. Yarn choice may affect the needle size or amount needed; we’re happy to help you pick supplies for the cowl you want to make.

Purchasing Materials for Class: Everything needed for class is available for purchase at the shop.Please come to class with all your materials ready to go. If your yarn needs winding, please purchase it and have it wound no later than the day before class, as we won’t be able to wind yarn right before class begins.

Class Policies:  At Stitch & Revel, our classes are designed to be joyful, creative, and welcoming. We want to make sure every student has the best experience possible. Seats are reserved on a first-come basis once payment is received, and classes require at least 3 students to run. If we need to cancel due to low enrollment, we’ll notify you at least 24 hours in advance and provide a full refund.

Student Responsibility: If you need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days before class for a full refund. Cancellations made 3-6 days prior are eligible for a partial refund, and cancellations less than 3 days before class are non-refundable. It is the student’s responsibility to arrive at least 5 minutes early so class can begin promptly. Please note, missed classes cannot be made up or credited. If you are taking a multi-session course and know you’ll miss a date, kindly let your instructor know.
