Learn to Knit

Two sessions, 4 hours total. The perfect balance for your busy schedule and your learning.

What you'll learn

• Casting on
• The knit stitch
• The purl stitch
• Binding off
• How to fix your mistakes and keep going

Your project: a basic knitted scarf (optional keyhole scarf)

From your very first knit stitch to your last bind off, you'll learn the foundations of knitting  and have a lovely scarf to show for it.

Materials (not included)

• Worsted weight yarn (weight 4), light color (easier to see your stitches while you're learning). We recommend Cascade 220 Superwash or Malabrigo Rios, both available right here in the shop.
• US 8, 24" circular knitting needles, available right here in the shop.

Why beginners choose us

Our custom Learn to Knit class was designed with you in mind. Tried before and it didn't stick? A class that moved too fast, a friend who couldn't quite explain it, or it's just been a while? It usually comes down to the same moment when you look at your project: "Wait… what happened?"

That's exactly what we built this class around. Not just learning the stitches, but knowing what to do when something goes a little sideways. Our goal is for you to leave class not only knowing how to knit, but feeling confident enough to keep going on your own.

It's built for busy schedules, too. Offered evenings (6:00–8:00pm) or on a weekend date, and capped at just 6 students for real, hands-on attention. You'll leave with a new skill and new knitting friends.

Materials Discount, Materials Prep & Class Policies (Please Read)

• Class Policies: At Stitch & Revel, our classes are designed to be joyful, creative, and welcoming. We want to make sure every student has the best experience possible. Seats are reserved on a first-come basis once payment is received, and classes require at least 3 students to run. If we need to cancel due to low enrollment, we’ll notify you at least 24 hours in advance and provide a full refund.
• Student Responsibility: If you need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days before class for a full refund. Cancellations made 3–6 days prior are eligible for a partial refund, and cancellations less than 3 days before class are non-refundable. It is the student’s responsibility to arrive at least 5 minutes early so class can begin promptly.
• All materials must be ready to go the day of class. Yarn must be purchased and wound no later than the day before class. We are not able to wind yarn right before class begins. Registered students receive a 10% discount on class materials, and we recommend purchasing everything in advance to ensure you’re fully prepared.

Please note, missed classes cannot be made up or credited. If you are taking a multi-session course and know you’ll miss a date, kindly let your instructor know.
