Flower Granny Square (Advanced Level)

Granny squares are versatile building blocks usable in various projects. Try your hand at making this advanced version. You'll master a few skills to add more color and depth to your granny square based projects as well as crochet projects in general. 

 Skills Required To Take This Class:

1. You must be comfortable with slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet.

2. You should have an understanding of basic granny squares. 

What you'll learn: 

In this class, we’ll learn how to make granny squares with a flower motif incorporated in the center. We’ll be using worsted weight yarn and a 5mm hook. You’ll practice various techniques like 

1. Chain circle, Magic Circle - for starting a granny square.

2. Working in the round using stitch markers. 

3. Slip Stitch, Invisible Join, Cluster stitch.

4. Changing colors.

5. Weaving in ends.

6. Reading and understanding pattern instructions.

7. Blocking techniques and joining squares will be discussed. 

Materials for class:

• Small quantities of worsted weight yarn, 3 different colors

• 5mm / H-8 hook

• Tapestry needle

• Removable stitch marker

Everything needed for class is available for purchase at the shop.

• Class Policies: At Stitch & Revel, our classes are designed to be joyful, creative, and welcoming. We want to make sure every student has the best experience possible. Seats are reserved on a first-come basis once payment is received, and classes require at least 3 students to run. If we need to cancel due to low enrollment, we’ll notify you at least 24 hours in advance and provide a full refund.

• Student Responsibility: If you need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days before class for a full refund. Cancellations made 3–6 days prior are eligible for a partial refund, and cancellations less than 3 days before class are non-refundable. It is the student’s responsibility to arrive at least 5 minutes early so class can begin promptly.

• All materials must be ready to go the day of class. Yarn must be purchased and wound no later than the day before class. We are not able to wind yarn right before class begins. Registered students receive a 10% discount on class materials, and we recommend purchasing everything in advance to ensure you’re fully prepared.
